Well, I finally got on the Tule river. It's been on the list for a long time, and Eric Giddens was good enough to point out the good lines and portages on the run!

Well, it's that time again.
Rain is a falling, and the river is rising. Here's a couple of pics from two creeking runs.
I'd have more photos but I left the cable for my camera at home :(

Well, bad news... I had to cut my Mexico trip short due to a stupid accident, and three stitches in my knee.
But, on the other hand, my two weeks around Ciudad Valles were great and I got some great photos!!!
I want to send out a big thanks to Aaron Koch (of Kayak Huasteca) who showed us around the area, and took lots of photos!
Check them out in my portfolio, or directly: Rio Micos, El Salto, Minas Vejas, Rio Guayalejo and Rio Santa Maria.

Well, I'm on another Mexico adventure.
I met up with Nate in Texas and we drove down to Cd Valles, Mexico to run the Rio Micos and El Salto. It's a great run with big waterfalls!
More photos and more adventures to come!

Well, I finally made it back home to San Diego.
After a brief stop in Lake Isabella (and a pumpkin carving party!) I drove the last 300 miles home.
A total of two months of traveling, and living in my truck, and 12,000 miles later, I can finally sleep in my own bed again!
It's a short lived break. I'm heading into Mexico for a month of river running with my good friend Rocky Contos.
Wish me luck on another Rocky Contos Adventure!

One more stop on the road, Asheville, NC.
I always love stopping by this small town. It's a good place to visit friends, and of course... Run the Green!
Leland playing around in Sunshine Rapid
Leland and Andria, of Brushy Mountain Publishing were kind enough to put me up while bumming around here. They were also kind enough to show me the good (and bad) lines down the Green. It was a bit low, but still a great run!
Unfortunately, the Green doesn't run every day, but one of the off days gave me a chance to do a little hiking around the Smokey's and see the colors in full bloom.

Well, I finally made it down to the Russell Fork. I've been hearing about it for years, but never made a release weekend.
Finally a picture of me in tower!
I had heard great things about the run, but they also included the dangers, undercuts, death caves, etc... Well, it turns out to be a great, manageable river. All the nasty stuff is easily avoidable.
Thanks to Trevor (photo above) for showing me the lines, and taking photos!

Finally, back in the US!
We spend a couple more days playing on the Ottawa, but it was getting cold! I knew the Moose River was releasing on Sunday so I decided to try and find the Lachine Wave on the way through.
The wave is much bigger in person!
Well, I was able to find the rapids, but wasn't sure where the wave in the river that was a mile across! Luckily just when I was about to give up and leave, A local paddler showed up to show me the in's and out's of Little Joe wave.
Another day, and another river! Onto the Moose River. I've run this section a couple of years ago, but forgot how much fun it is!

Well, I'm here in the great Canadian North on the Ottawa River.
I've heard alot about the river, but have never seen it. Well, so far, it's lived up to the hype! The play is great at the levels we have seen. The river has been fluctuating up and down, from 2.5 to 3.75 feet, but the play has been good.
I've put up an album I'll be adding to with more play shots here: 2008 Ottawa River. I'm up here with my buddy Mike and his girlfriend Hailey, so they are in most of the shots!
We have a couple more days to play here (unless it gets too cold!!). Then off to the Lachine Wave in Montreal then on to the Moose River in upstate New York!

Well, another great weekend!
Gauleyfest was this weekend, and the great weather made for some fine spectating!
I spent most of the day sitting on top of pillow rock taking pictures of the carnage. I posted some of the better shots in a 2008 Gauley Fest Gallery.
So, I have a couple of days to recover and reorganize, then off north. Far north, to Canada and the Owatta River. I've never been there, but it is supposed to be at a good level and shouldn't be too crowded.
Back on the road for some international travel!
